My name is Tereza Alabanda. I’m a professional pastry chef, graduated from the Academy of Culinary Arts “Le Cordon Bleu” in Paris, France, and later from “Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy” in Wieze, Belgium. I apprenticed at the “Burj Al Arab” hotel in Dubai.
October 2007 – November 2020 I was a head pastry chef and head teaching chef at the “Oliva Allegra” Culinary Institute in Split, Croatia. Since December 2020 I’m a Head of Product Development at one of the croatian leading baker’s confectionery manufacturers – “Bobis d.o.o.”, as well as head teaching pastry chef at the gastronomy department of “Aspira University College” in Split, Croatia. Frequently, I’m invited to write articles and columns for various food magazines (‘New weddings’, ‘Good food’ etc.).
I have started “Pastry Maestra”TM for a simple reason – I was angry! I was angry because, when I decided to change my profession and become a pastry chef, nowhere, and I mean – NOWHERE on the Internet I couldn’t find a site that offers ALL the information, tutorials, tips etc. about creating desserts in one place! Nowhere! So, I made a decision – when I get my diploma, I will create a site where EVERY pastry and desserts enthusiast, being it a complete beginner, advanced connoisseur, or a professional chef, can find everything and anything on the subject of creating desserts! That’s how “Pastry Maestra” was born.
Wait…what do you mean – you’ve changed your profession? And also – what’s with this ‘Pastry Maestra’ name!? Where did that come from?
Oh…it’s so nice of you to ask, thank you! Now, if you want to know more about me, like – why I named my site “Pastry Maestra”, or – looking at the bigger picture – what is my mission and what am I trying to accomplish – well…watch the video!:)
There, now you know all about me! I thank you for your interest, I’m flattered and deeply honored to have such a wonderful audience and I hope that you will enjoy using my site! Welcome and have fun!
